HIGH LEVEL JOB DESCRIPTION/SCOPE:
Centro Operational BARE (COB) is the main upstream process facilities of NOJV Petropiar, located at the Huyaparí Field (ex-Hamaca Field) which is into Venezuela's Orinoco Heavy Oil Faja Belt - one of the largest heavy oil deposits in the world. PetroPiar is a Mixed Company between PDVSA (70%) and Chevron (30%), operates the field.
Operations Senior Advisor provides technical support to Petropiar Ops Management teams for complying with Process Safety and Asset Integrity requirements in the Central Process Facilities located at "Centro de Operaciones Bare"-COB-, assess all Process and Instrumentation System to identify critical spare parts and accessories to develop min/max inventory list, and maintain visible leadership for creating and developing technical solutions to eliminate existing bottlenecks at COB Dehidration Plant. Also provides mentoring to Petropiar local employees and performs all aspects of troubleshooting related to Operations, Process and Instrumentation, preventive and predictive maintenance on monitoring and control systems. Support Maintenance and Projects teams’ activities. Tests, troubleshoots and corrects production related processes through monitoring and control systems. Ensure compliance with all PDVSA Company safety standards and work practices and maintains equipment in compliance Operational Excellence procedures and regulatory requirements.
The position is a secondment into LABU, Eastern Venezuela and is resident in Puerto La Cruz, working and living in El Tigre city from Monday to Friday (5x2). Business language is Spanish in Puerto La Cruz/El Tigre, and English in the USA. Schooling is from Grade 1 through 12. Adequate medical services are available. Climatic regions are tropical, the city is at sea level, with an annual average temperature of 27.4 C /80° F. Puerto la Cruz is one of the top tourist cities in Venezuela due to its beautiful beaches.
Expatriate assignments will be considered.
Relocation Options: Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
CRITICAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Technical and Troubleshooting Skills: >15 years proven experience in Operations, Process & instrumentation Systems including: operations and maintenance, sand control and piping clean out programs, critical equipment troubleshooting, calibration, testing and repair.
Experienced in electronic and pneumatic transmitters, control valves, switches, analyzers, meters, heaters, PLC and DCS control systems, AC and DC UPS systems, communication-alarm systems, and battery chargers. Extensive knowledge in SIL Relays and Power Management System.
2. Mentoring: Demonstrated business results. Advises and Mentors National technicians in all aspects of Process, instrumentation and control systems including installation, operation and maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, calibration, testing and repair.
3. Teamwork: Demonstrated ability: to build team consensus and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in multi-discipline/multi-cultural and NOJV environment.
4. Leadership: Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills: proactive communicator, ability to effectively engage stakeholders on project direction and objectives.
